A growing number of couples are opting to hire exclusive-use venues and make their wedding a weekend-long event – who can blame them when one of the most common things newlyweds say is that the day passes in a flash?
Reel Time Events has just launched a Highland Games Experience that is proving popular with couples choosing to prolong the party by laying on the games before or after the big day.
Cath Wood at Reel Time told us: “It’s a fun way to bring different sides of the clans together and is a fantastic ice breaker. Often friends and family have travelled from far and wide and this is a great way to incorporate a bit of Scottish sporting culture and heritage.”
The Highland Games Experience typically consists of four or five activities. There’s plenty on offer, so pick what you feel most suits your guests, and then on the day they’ll be split into ‘clans’ and rotate around the different tasks. For the more active, caber tossing and the Scots stane (FYI: seeing who can throw a big stone the furthest) allow show-offs to test their strength, but there’s also options for the more sedate guests including whisky tasting, ceilidh dancing and bagpipe workshops.
