Team BSW was among the lucky few who spent an evening exploring the new Kiehl’s store on Buchanan Street last week. It’s a spacious two-floor beauty emporium (formerly home to Lush which has now moved across the road), complete with beautiful original wooden staircase and bright bay windows (an essential for getting a good swatch at your skin while you try products out). The renowned skincare brand has made a huge commitment to Glasgow, as the store is the second biggest Kiehl’s store in the world outside of its New York flagship (go Glasgow!). So what can west of Scotland beauty devotees look forward to in store?

Since its launch in 1851, customer experience has always been at the heart of Kiehl’s, with a friendly ‘try before you buy’ service and generous hassle-free returns policy taking away the daunting edge that shopping for luxe beauty products often entails. Armed with this information, we dispersed throughout the store, with editor Beth making a beeline for her favourite Midnight Recovery Concentrate while I dotted on some of the new Micro Blur Skin Perfector across the pesky pores on my nose. Thankfully the Skin Perfector is shine-free so it blended with my makeup, making my complexion appear smooth without looking oily.

It didn’t take long before we hopped into the retro photobooth, and were excited to hear it was no launch night perk, but a permanent addition to the store. There’s also a ‘Refuel Bar’ just for the boys, where they can chose from a selection of grooming services and check out some of the men’s range for themselves. We ended the night sipping a cocktail in the Kiehl’s Lounge, which will be available for corporate clients and functions. That’s one work night out we won’t have a headache for!
