You can thank Harry Potter for our obsession with more academic wedding venues, and the latest on our wishlist is based within Edinburgh Napier University’s city-wide campus. The Rivers Suite at Craiglockhart was originally a castle (Hogwarts, eat your heart out), and comprises three rooms, a chapel and space for up to 150 guests. This year, the venue is launching a new £5,000 package for 60 day guests.
Cementing its bargain status is the never-ending story of what’s included in the deal: exclusive use of the Rivers Suite and the surrounding gardens for photography (the Craiglockhart lands date back to the 13th century and the front lawns look towards Edinburgh Castle – how’s that for a historic backdrop?), a selection of tasty canapés on arrival, a three course wedding breakfast prepared in house (featuring petit fours!), wine for toasts and the meal, your own wedding coordinator and master of ceremonies at your disposal and a wedding cake, in a choice of designs and flavours *breathes*.
And if you’re struggling to narrow it down to just 60 guests, you can add anyone on for £70 per day and £10 per evening. Hint hint.
