It’s all go at Manorview, the hotel group responsible for some of Scotland’s most gorgeous wedding venues. Not only has the chain launched the beautiful Boclair House in Bearsden after extensive renovation, but has also taken over Cornhill House in Biggar. The nine-bedroom hotel is surrounded by ten acres of countryside and will be renamed Cornhill Castle in celebration of Manorview’s takeover. “As a group, we are continually growing our portfolio,” says managing director Steve Graham. “We are really looking forward to creating special wedding celebrations for brides and grooms at the castle.”

If that wasn’t enough, the hotel also won three awards at the Scottish Hotel Awards. The new wedding and events space at the hotel has also undergone a complete renovation and significant expansion.

On the look out for luxury? Set your sights on East Lothian venue Winton House. What’s more, the venue is also offering up its Bridal Suite (above), with four-poster bed and ensuite bathroom, for free for a night, either as a mini-moon before the big day or as a first anniversary treat.

Intimate weddings have their advantages (a cosy atmosphere, kind on the bank balance – need we go on?) but finding a venue that can comfortably cater to such a small crowd can be challenging. Thankfully, Glen Tanar Ballroom has refurbished a dinky dining room called the Coats room, which now takes care of 20 guests and under.
