Wedding fairs not really your thing? We know that sometimes these events can be totally overwhelming, especially if you’re a laid-back bride looking to hold a casual celebration.

The wedding industry is waking up to this fact, and that’s why we’re now seeing a whole host of wedding fairs that pride themselves on their chilled-out attitude towards planning. So if you’re looking for something low-key to help inspire you then head down to Knot Another Wedding Fair courtesy of Strawberry Lemonade Events, an Edinburgh-based events company that specialises in weddings, proposals and birthday parties.

Staking out The Old Dr Bells Baths on Sunday 24th March from 12pm-5pm, it’ll be a relaxed affair, with the opportunity to meet local, quirky and independent suppliers, and enjoy a mix of live bands, masterclasses and workshops. There will even be a curated bridal ‘shop’, bringing together a range of dresses in a variety of sizes so that all attendees will be able to find ‘the one’.

Some names confirmed for the event include Annie Lovett Photography, The Pantry, The Make Up Bar, Patti and Jules Catering and Sugar Honey Band. Plus, the first 50 guests will receive a goody bag, and you can even win the chance to have your wedding planned!

Could The Old Dr Bells Baths be your dream wedding venue?

If that’s not enough to entice you, then it’s worth noting that this fair is taking place at one of 2019’s hottest new venues. The Old Dr Bells Baths is a former Victorian swimming pool situated in Leith, and could be a real contender if you’re looking for somewhere to act as a cool blank canvas for your big day.

“The place ‘where all Leithers learned to swim’ has now been converted into an elegant, stylish and affordable wedding venue,” events manager Lee Jack explains. “The grey concrete has been replaced with gleaming white walls and contrasting black pillars and banisters. This bold design gives a modern, contemporary feel while preserving the unique features of this local institution.”

If you choose this venue for your wedding, you and your guests are guaranteed to be well-fed, as The Old Dr Bells Baths recently teamed up with star caterer Simon Preece Food Creations. Simon specialises in serving up mouthwatering modern British fare (we’ll be having roast beef and Yorkshire puds, thanks), and will be catering events in the venue and the on-site café from the end of this month.

So what are you waiting for? Register for the event for free here and go forth and find your dream suppliers – and maybe your perfect venue in the process!
