“We got engaged on 23rd December 2016 and got married nine months later – we didn’t want a long engagement and decided to go for it! We chose Ingliston straight away as we both love it there and it’s halfway between where our families stay, so thought it would be convenient for our guests too.

Another quick decision was asking KK Snaps to be our photographers. They are so talented and make you feel completely at ease. One thing we didn’t find easy was our guestlist. I have a very big family so we had 120 during the day and a further 60 at night.

Ryan picked all the songs for the ceremony and first dance. I walked down the aisle to Ronan Keating’s ‘This I Promise You’ and it had many guests in tears before I even arrived. We had a pianist, John Rankin, for the drinks reception and during the meal and he was amazing. He took requests and there was nothing he couldn’t play.

We had a doughtnut wall and it was a raving success! Poppaball’s prosecco glitter was also a real talking point as everyone was fascinated by the shimmering effect in their glasses.

It’s difficult to pick a highlight as we enjoyed every minute, but we loved having some time alone in Ingliston’s horse and carriage toasting to our future with a glass of champagne.”

Top tip: “Get a videographer! I know everyone’s budgets are different and it’s something you wonder if you actually need, but our film brings the whole day back to life and the guest messages section is something we will cherish.”
