Already hitched? Dust off your dress and get ready to party at The Busby Hotel’s charity ball

There’s something slightly sad about the afterlife of your wedding dress. Most brides find it too sentimental to sell, and repurposing them to make christening gowns has fallen out of fashion. But it’s hardly like you can wear it again, can you?

It turns out you can actually. On Saturday 7th April, The Busby Hotel is hosting a charity ball with an all-female guest list and wedding gown dress code. And it’s all in the name of two very worthwhile Scottish charities: CHAS and When You Wish Upon a Star Scotland. There’s no need to leave out your single besties either, as bridesmaids can shimmy back into their dresses too.

The Busby’s award-winning wedding co-ordinator Sarah-Jane Fleming is looking forward to welcoming back some familiar brides and meeting some new faces: “l know how much brides love their wedding dress and many of them would relish the chance to wear it again – and what could be a better reason than to raise money for two great children’s charities?”

Scott Maxwell, Events Co-ordinator from CHAS, said: “We are delighted to be one of the charities that will benefit from this fantastic evening. The event will allow brides to relive their happiest day and share their cherished moments again, and here at CHAS that fits in perfectly with what we do. We are here to support families during their hardest times and help them to create special memories together in the short time they have with their children so that those moments can be treasured for many years to come.”

Tickets cost £50 per person and include a three-course meal, a glass of bubbly on arrival and entertainment from wedding singer Eleanor Miller.
