“We got engaged on the 29th November 2014. We’d been away for the weekend and we stopped by Cameron House on the way home. Stephen asked to take a picture of me looking over the beautiful loch and when I turned around he was on one knee! After he’d popped the question there, getting married at Cameron House was a no-brainer.
I have always wanted an all-white wedding, so I took inspiration from Pinterest and Instagram in the early stages of planning. Ruth from Supernova Wedding Design & Flowers guided us throughout and we worked on different ideas together. We aimed for a romantic elegant feel with big white fluffy flowers and hundreds of candles.
I couldn’t believe how amazing the décor looked as I walked down the aisle with my dad – Supernova created exactly what I wanted and it felt like a dream! We picked an amazing bunch of suppliers, everyone we worked with was so friendly and approachable. All the staff at Cameron House ensured everything ran smoothly for the whole weekend. Without my mum and dad, though, the whole day wouldn’t have been possible so I’m very grateful.
We tried to include as many friends and family as we could. We had my Auntie Mary play piano during the ceremony, and Stephen’s cousin Dr Duncan Ryan married us. Our friends Nicola and Grace from Fairytale Fancies created a stunning treat table for our guests to enjoy, and my mum and aunties made beautiful favours which tied in beautifully with our colour scheme.”
Top tip: “Relax, enjoy the planning and the big day because it passes so quickly! We would love to do it all over again.”
