Ayrshire’s Thistle Du Florist is up for national floristry award

The Darvel-based florist – renowned for its bespoke approach and friendly service – recently won a regional title and will now compete with peers across the country in awards to be held later this month

Keep your fingers crossed for Thistle Du Florist, which is in the running to win Florist of the Year this March at Scotland’s Business Awards. The Darvel-based florist was already named Best Florist in Ayrshire last year thanks to the team’s creative arrangements and attention to detail.

All this success is the result of years of hard work: owner and head florist Heather Martin set up the shop almost ten years ago, but has been a fully-trained florist for 40 years, so you can be sure she knows her roses from her ranunculus!

“We don’t do package weddings – each wedding is bespoke,” say florists Heather and Fiona. “We’re a small team of two florists and an assistant, which means we can always give that personal attention that each bride deserves.” The team works with fresh, artificial and dried flowers, and designs for all styles of venue, from castles to town halls.
