By the time an average finished gown reaches its bride, it’s had quite the journey from a far-flung manufacturing depot to hanger. Typically Joyce Young Design Studios’ couture gowns don’t rack up any of these air miles as they are made to measure in the company’s north Glasgow atelier.
This year, though, Joyce and co are going international! “One of our tartan gowns is travelling to Japan to be part of a two-year exhibition all about tartan,” divulges Joyce. “It will tour the major Japanese cities and will be supported by a designer profile and slideshow of images of real-life weddings, with our brides wearing tartan.”
