To celebrate the launch of bloomin’ lovely new floristry business VnA Florals, the dynamic duo behind it built a haven of petals and greenery at lush East Lothian spot Archerfield House
What’s better than one talented florist? Two, obviously! Victoria McArdle of Secret Garden Events Florist and Aline of B Bonnie Flowers are wildly successful on their own but together? They’re unstoppable.
The busy pair recently decided to partner up and set up sublime sister company, VnA Florals – a joint venture to help with increasing demand and allow them to tackle even bigger events. And to kick things off with a bang and show off their skills, Aline and Victoria took to the gorgeous East Lothian venue Archerfield House and showered the place in some of the most spectacular blooms we’ve ever seen.
“I’ve worked at Archerfield House many, many times before,” explains Victoria. “It’s on my doorstep – I know it so well. It’s light and airy and brilliant for photos, no matter what the weather’s like. It was ideal for what we had in mind.
“No one had ever done any installation quite so extravagant at the entranceway, so this was our main focus. The venue was the inspiration. We made sure the palette was in keeping with the sandstone of the house, very soft and muted, with plenty of peach tones.
“We went seasonal with the flowers and foliage and actually foraged for quite a few elements. We included blossom, beautiful poppies and a selection of gorgeous roses, for impact. Romance was the overall goal.
“At the time, Covid restrictions were still strict, so that’s why we ended up displaying the cake (made by the talented Rustic Cake by Annie) down by the pond – our thinking was, why not host the cake cutting outside? Why couldn’t it be part of the drinks reception, instead? We tried to think outside the box, and inspire brides and grooms to as well.”
