With a walled garden, 15th-century Gothic church and some of the most stunning views in East Lothian, Dunglass Estate is truly a playground for the imagination, especially for photographers. Photography Farm – a project established by Lisa Devlin Photography to help wedding photographers hone their skills and work with industry experts – recently took up residence and the resulting images are breathtaking.

“The Walled Garden at Dunglass [above] is one of the estate’s best-kept secrets. A romantic and whimsical space, it offers many photo opportunities whether it be by the rows of wildflowers, array of hidden doorways or the vast lawns and walls,” says Claire Weir, events manager at the venue.

We are big fans of the intimate feel of these pictures, which prove that cosy moments in quiet corners are worth treasuring every bit as much as the biggest moments of your day. If you do want grandeur, however, you’ll find it at Dunglass: as well as the Gothic church, there’s a brand-new pavilion, sweeping grounds and the stables ceremony room. Sounds picture perfect to us.
