Petritoli is a wedding destination like no other. A quaint and friendly village of 2,500 people in central Italy, it has become renowned for its towering medieval architecture and web of winding cobbled streets found within its historic walls. Following several requests, the area’s regional administrators have drafted special guidelines for private use of the most evocative corners of the village for weddings and receptions.

The settings Petritoli offers for ceremonies are truly enchanting. The Town Hall’s panoramic garden is one of the most popular spots to exchange vows outside – and thanks to the moderate Mediterranean climate, doing so is rarely a problem! Situated in a former monastery, it boasts views across the surrounding hilly wine country of Le Marche towards the Adriatic Coast.

At Petritoli, you and your guests have the opportunity to enjoy an authentic, romantic Italian wedding in the centre of a scenic medieval village

In the cooler, winter months, couples often host their ceremony in the baroque Iride Theatre. Its sumptuous red velvet-draped interiors and cosy ambience has led to its local nickname, ‘The Chocolate Box’.

In true Italian style, celebrate your newfound marital status by feasting on the finest local cuisine. One of the village’s atmospheric squares – the focal point of life in Petritoli – can be set exclusively for your wedding banquet. Imagine cocktails and canapés by candlelight and you’re almost there.

Although you’ll never really want to call time on your wedding day, the accommodation available makes saying buona notte a very attractive prospect. Up to 80 guests can be housed together in an historic palace property right in the centre of the village. Adorned with refined furniture, yet offering modern facilities, each room’s window opens to breathtaking views, including swimming pools and gardens with exclusive use for guests.
