Give your gown a happily ever after at The Dress Cleaning Company

It may be painful to consider now, with all these pristine ivory gowns vying for your time and money, but post w-day, that precious dress of yours could be in a sorrier state than you the morning after a big night out (let’s face it: we’ve all been there). Prioritise aftercare. “To preserve your gown and all those memories, your gown needs to be cleaned and stored correctly as soon after the wedding as possible,” stresses Nicola McCormick at Ayrshire specialist The Dress Cleaning Company. “This will not only prevent damage, but will keep it looking like new for years to come.

“With over 30 years’ experience in the bridal industry, we’ll professionally clean, repair and pack your wedding dress and veil and return it to you in a beautiful box with personalised inscription for you to safely store it away.”

The company currently offers four packages, Pearl, Opal, Crystal and Diamond. “These will suit different styles of gown,” explains Nicola. “Pearl, from £130, is for dresses that are slim fitting with no petticoats or train, meanwhile Opal, £150, is designed to tackle those with a small train and no more than one layer of netting. The Crystal package, £180, has fishtail gowns with up to three layers of netting and a medium to full skirt in mind and, lastly, at £220, is Diamond, which is for ballgowns with four or more layers.

“It’s such a lovely gift for a parent to give to their daughter or a husband to give to his wife. From that first glance, when they saw you walk down the aisle, they’ll remember how stunning you looked forever. Preserve that memory.” It’s hinting time…
