With all the good things that come with wedding planning (dream dresses, tasty treats, marrying the love of your life), we reckon that you might just be feeling like the luckiest person in the world. Chances are, then, that you may be keen to spread those good vibes, and will be looking for ways to give back come the big day.
If you are feeling so inclined, then The Woodland Trust has just the ticket. Environmentally conscious couples can demonstrate their commitment to safeguarding nature by dedicating individual trees to guests as favours through the charity; or similarly, they could ask loved ones to contribute to a larger woodland dedication as a wedding present – this could even include its own bench or marker-post inscribed with your names. What better locale for a sweet, newlywed smooch?
Plots are available across Scotland and the UK, so you can choose a spot that holds particular sentimental value – maybe the place your other half popped the question on a woodland walk, or somewhere you used to frequent as a child on family outings? Plus, to say thank you for your kindness, the Trust will send donors a special pack with a personalised certificate, wood, and a map so that you can visit whenever you please.
Tree dedications are a suggested donation of £20, while larger areas of woodland start from £250 per quarter acre, with money going towards the charity’s work standing up for trees. Regardless of how you decide to give, we’d bet on karma rewarding you further down the line.
