We knew we weren’t the only ones spending Sunday afternoons having a discreet greet at American reality TV show Say Yes to the Dress! Turns out 15 million of us tuned in last year in the UK to catch the couture and crazy families, but most importantly, to run the emotional gauntlet of the quest for that all-important gown with the brides-to-be.

If you’re equally obsessed with the show, you’ll be as excited as we are to hear that the British version is due to launch this summer. TLC, who broadcast the US series, has commissioned 40 episodes with UK brides, filmed in Essex boutique Confetti & Lace. If you’ve been living under a (f)rock, the premise of the show is simple: a behind-the-scenes look at bridal shopping appointments. The original takes place at Kleinfeld Bridal in Manhattan (a 30,000 square-foot treasure trove filled with quirky personalities and hissy fits – and that’s just the staff).

The show is set to be just as addictive when it hits our shores, as there’s no shortage of drama in Essex! Designer David Emanuel will be fronting the show – you might have heard of him, he only bloomin’ created one of the most iconic wedding dresses of all time for Princess Diana – along with Confetti & Lace owner and designer Christine Dando. David said: “I’m simply thrilled to be part of the global expansion of this smash hit TV show for TLC. This is an exciting challenge and I can’t wait to meet my brides-to-be!”

Not content just watching the show? Casting is currently underway, so if you’d like to Say Yes to the Dress on the small screen, head to www.uk.tlc.com/weddings to apply.
