Brides and grooms on a budget can now put the icing on their customised wedding cake without breaking the bank as South Lanarkshire’s Jenny’s Cakes is giving couples the opportunity to have a special wedding cake within a modest budget.
Husband and wife proprietors Jenny and Tom Breen explain: ‘‘We were mindful of the fact that today people are living with tightened purse-strings, but everyone wants that memorable wedding cake for their big day.
‘‘We will be hosting an open weekend on June 28th and 29th, at our artisan bakery in Crossford to launch a new development, designed to give brides and grooms-to-be the option of seeing a selected range of wedding cakes to wow them and their guests at a reasonable price,’’ continues Jenny.
Spearheading the new campaign is their new ‘Simply Chic’ range – created to complement their one-off bespoke designer wedding cakes. Rather than opting for a fully bespoke design service, couples can choose from a range of more affordable wedding cakes that can be customised to produce something special on a more modest budget.
Jenny, who has been in the wedding cake business for 28 years, adds: ‘‘The Simply Chic range is made to the same meticulous standard of quality and presentation as our bespoke designer cakes, just a bit less complex. We want couples to come and see us and our fabulous state-of-the-art bakery, where our creative team prides itself on making absolutely everything in-house from scratch. “
At the open weekend, visitors will have the opportunity to sample some of the cakes with a glass of bubbly and meet the Jenny’s Cakes team. They’ll also be able to see demonstrations of their renowned sugar-crafting skills.
It’s a free event, but if you fancy going along for cake and prosecco, you must register in advance by calling the bakery on 01555 860755, or visiting
