Honeymoon beauty buys

Jet off on your holiday of a lifetime protected from the elements and preened to perfection!

Primer Plus Protection, £24, Bobbi Brown

We've been panicking a bit watching Love Island. Are we supposed to wear that much makeup during the day on holiday? We're lucky if we remember to put deodorant on before hitting the pool, let alone the full faces the girls have been rocking. But sometimes a special day out calls for getting your glam on and Bobbi Brown's Primer Plus Protection has a whopping SPF50, meaning you'll be dazzling and defended.
Cattleya Flower Body Mist, £45, Jo Malone London

Heavy scents can be far too overpowering in tropical climes. Seek out something light, zesty and fun instead. Jo Malone London's new Hot Blossoms collection includes the sparkling Cattleya Flower scent in the brand's first ever body mist. It's designed to be layered with the range's Tropical Cherimoya cologne, but we love it – and its vibrant packaging – as a standalone scent.
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, £17, available from Debenhams

There's bucketfuls of products that claim to be long-lasting, but none have had such an iron-clad endorsement as Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner. When one user was involved in a car accident she posted a selfie alongside a glowing review which cited eight hours in the ER and lots of tears, but near immaculate flicked liner. So the pool bar should be a total breeze!
Bronze Goddess Hair and Body Shimmer Oil, £38, Estee Lauder

One product on the up this summer is body oil. Rihanna teased her brand Fenty Beauty's Body Lava on Instagram earlier in the year and fans went wild for its lush lustre. Tracking a bottle down is like gold dust, but that's not the only way to snare that summery glow. Our favourite seasonal scent, Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess, is also available as a shimmer oil, but it's limited edition so don't miss your chance to pick one up.
Moroccan Spice eyeshadow palette, £42, Fenty Beauty at Harvey Nichols

As we've already mentioned, Rihanna's Fenty Beauty has induced minor hysteria amongst beauty fans, and the limited edition launches aren't around for long. No matter where you're going on honeymoon, the new Moroccan Spice palette is a dream for creating different looks from smoky and sultry to glimmering gold. It's mega-wearable with 16 shades in a range of finishes including matte, satin, pearl, metallic, and shimmer, and will look devastatingly good when teamed with bronzed skin.
Protective UV Shield, £5.99, Mark Hill

You've ticked off your skin sun protection as you're packing, but have you picked up anything for your hair? It's vulnerable to sun damage too. A couple of spritzes of this prep spray and you're covered for UVA and UVB rays – you paid £140 for your balayage, cough up £5.99 to protect it.
Gold Rush, £25.50, Benefit

Benefit's blushers are up there with the best of them, and we've always been Rockateur girls at heart, but newbie Gold Rush is coming for the crown. Not only is its lovely peachy tones and subtle shimmer great for honeymoons, but it's one to stash away for the big day too.
Double Shot Espresso Tan, £24.95, Fake Bake

Once you're back home without the mercy of an Instagram filter, your lack of tan will become embarrassingly obvious. 'What did you do all day?' your gran will press, as you can spot the redness creep up your hubby or wife's neck. Whatever you decide to spend your time on honeymoon doing, the new DoubleShot Espresso Tan by Fake Bake is super fast-drying and can be worn instantly with no transfer onto clothes, so put it on before you land and by the time you get home your secret will safe (with housekeeping).
ColourPlex Toning Ultra Violet shampoo, £6.99, Charles Worthington, available from Boots

Blondes or balayaged brunettes that already have a deep spiritual connection with their purple shampoo will be absolutely besotted with Charles Worthington's latest version. It amps up the colour of the violet pigments to banish brassy tones that can be caused by pool water and sun exposure. There's even a blue version that removes red tones from brown hair.
Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist, £22, St Tropez

Even if you do manage to fit in some sunbathing, you're much better off keeping your face out of the sun and slathered in a high factor. That doesn't mean you have to rock a ghostly complexion that's at odds with your Mauritian tan though. St Tropez's Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist is hydrating, lightweight and gives you a natural medium tan a couple of hours after application. The best part is it's totally foolproof – just a couple of quick sprays around your face and you're good to go.
