After a proposal from Scott Barr on Christmas morning 2012, Jenifer Wylie started the new year on cloud nine. “I started planning the wedding in January 2013 and booked my ‘big five’ straight away – church, venue, photographer, band and cars,” she reveals.
The couple fell then pregnant so anything wedding-related took a back seat for a while! But after the arrival of baby Bobby in May 2014, Jenifer and Scott realised they had to get their skates on to get everything else into place.
She admits that her crack team of suppliers were fantastic in helping her realise her vision of a fun, colourful, festival-vibe day. “Our florist Don’t Eat The Daisies totally got where we were coming from and our stationer Luvverly Jubberly went to the ends of the earth to arrange my last-minute order. She was amazing,” beams Jenifer.
After the big day, guests continually told Jenifer and Scott how great band Funk Nation were, but for the bride, the true highlight of the day was the ceremony. “I felt so sick at the top of the aisle clutching onto my dad, but then Scott caught – and held – my gaze. I didn’t feel nervous any more. During those vows, I felt happier than I’ve ever felt,” recalls Jenifer.
