Although she lives in England now, Jill was keen to return to her native Scotland to get hitched. When Jill and Russ visited the Coo Cathedral in Aboyne, they loved its high ceiling and blank canvas layout, as well as the beautiful estate surrounding the venue.
The Scandi design-loving bride admits that she invested a lot of time and effort in the wedding’s styling. “We wanted the overall look to be quite pared back and graphic. We chose a colour palette of grey, pink and lemon-yellow.”
The ‘Cutest guest’ award has to go to Bruce, Jill and Russ’s bow-tie-wearing dachshund, who certainly seemed to revel in the occasion, even making a little bed on the bride’s dress during the meal!
The couple commissioned wedding planners and stylists Knot & Pop to assist in the big day, and Jill sings their praises: “You really need someone who can be on hand to help co-ordinate, problem-solve and have a good relationship with all of the suppliers – never mind control the dog!” she giggles.
