We’re all in agreement that real fur should be consigned to the history books, but can faux ever match up in terms of texture? If anyone is in any doubt, take a look at Polly Reid.

The Turriff designer produces some of the plushest and cosiest bridal jackets and cover-ups on the market, with a little help from her smallholding’s flock of British Angora goats, whose wool is backed onto cotton to create the unique, 100% natural fabric.

“I have just extended my wedding faux fur collection to include jackets as well as boleros and capelets,” reveals Polly. “I adore my Rosemary jacket, with its shawl collar and bangle-length sleeves [above]. All our jackets and boleros are lined with bamboo silk to add to the luxurious feel.”

As temperatures drop and ceremonies migrate outdoors, we’d get snuggling up if we were you.
