Lewis Hall and Yvonne Kolasinski

16th May 2016

Venue | Kinkell Byre, St Andrews
Photography | Rooftop Mosaic

“Our venue was a beautiful barn called Kinkell Byre. It overlooks the sea and St Andrews and booking it was the first decision we made. We decided we didn’t want a typical hotel wedding and liked the idea of personalising everything and designing the barn the way we wanted it.

I found lots of inspiration from blogs and Pinterest and loved being able to introduce little personal touches like a ‘Pimp your prosecco’ bar and a display of photos of funny pictures of us growing up. We also played Pass the Parcel during the wedding breakfast.

My favourite moment of the day was having my first dance with my new husband. We chose a lovely song that meant something to us, but as soon as this finished the band launched into ‘Shut Up and Dance’ and everyone joined us on the dancefloor. It was amazing looking around and seeing all these special people who were there to celebrate with us.

Wild Rover Food provided our catering and they were amazing! Everyone commented on how delicious and different the food was and the team were so much fun. Another favourite detail was my Elizabeth Stuart two-piece from Unbridaled in Ayr. I fell in love with is from the minute I saw it.

I couldn’t be more grateful to our family and friends, who helped decorate jars and make props. They were also a massive help in setting up and clearing down the barn.”

Top tip: “Make sure on the day you relax and enjoy all of the hard work you have put in.”
