After a whirlwind romance, Zac Louden from Edinburgh took his relationship with partner Colin Nicholson to new heights by popping the question at Go Ape forest adventure park in Aberfoyle!
After meeting through mutual friends on Facebook last summer, Zac and Colin shared their first date swinging through the treetops at Go Ape, which is located in scenic Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Now living together in Johnstone, Zac decided to put a ring on it and organised a trip back to the park in February for the surprise proposal. As Colin flew down the final 400 metre-long zip wire, Zac was ready and waiting on one knee with a large ‘Will You Marry Me?’ sign.
Zac said: “Being up in the trees I was so worried that I was going to drop the rings! As if a zip wire isn’t nerve-wracking enough without the added pressure of proposing – but it was worth it to see the look on Colin’s face as he came flying down. The whole day was perfect and all the staff were such a great help in making it all go to plan.”
Colin, who admitted he was a little flustered by the crowd of cheering spectators, added: “We were about to go on the last zip wire and I knew something was strange as Zac was insisting that I went last. At about half way along the zip I could see a huge sign and Zac down on one knee and I immediately clicked what was happening.
The pair plan to marry in 2018 at The Vu on the water in Bathgate. If the proposal is anything to go by, we can’t wait to see the pics from the wedding. Congratulations guys!
