Known for its picturesque scenery and dramatic landscape, the Outer Hebridean island is the perfect place to influence the design of the new tartan: a collection of ocean blues, earthy greens, cool greys and a splash of burnt orange make it a real showstopper.

The kaleidoscope of colour represents the best of what Harris has to offer. It pays homage to the island’s crystal clear waters, sandy white beaches, dramatic terrain and painting-like skyscapes.

The tartan features a mix of both warm and cool shades of greys, blues and greens with the addition of burnt orange yarn. This versatility makes it a dream to pair with a myriad of different hued outerwear to truly match your style, however the Tarbert Tweed Jacket and Waistcoat was designed to seamlessly complement the Harris Mist tartan.

The kilts are expertly crafted in Scotland, and the Harris Mist kilt is available in both 8-yard machine-made or fully handmade 8-yard options (a benefit of handmade being the kilt can be completely unstitched and remade using the same material to make a different sized kilt – perfect option for people looking to hand their kilt down to the next generation).

MacGregor and MacDuff’s kilt fitting services will also be going to the island, as they touch down on Harris to celebrate the new tartan launch. The fittings will take place on Saturday 18th March, and appointments are limited.
