If there’s one thing we’re sure of, it’s that our readers love barns. Rustic, homespun venues have been the subject of our most widely read online stories for the past three years running, if you can believe it. However, there’s a new kid on the block, and we’re anticipating that it will be one of 2020’s standout stars.
The Den at Culross is a recently completed wedding venue in Fife, which has just finished transforming a barn and old byre into an events space ideal for relaxed, country-inspired weddings.
Available as a blank-canvas venue and suitable for between 50 and 450 people, you can hire either the byre and courtyard by themselves for more intimate celebrations, or get the barn involved too if it’s going to be a substantial shindig.
“The Byre has many traditional features, like open wooden roof trusses and sandstone walls, making it ideal for the ceremony or as a reception space for up to 100 people,” says owner Audrey Stirling.
“The courtyard is a lovely spot for photographs, or drinks and a BBQ on a nice day. The Barn is home to many authentic touches, such as old cattle troughs, and can be subdivided to suit the number of guests who will be attending your event.”
Excited to get made up to the nines? You and your bride tribe could make use of the four-star luxury accommodation on-site, which can comfortably sleep four people, for your wedding morning. But don’t get too much FOMO, guys: the venue are currently in the process of developing a ‘Groom Room’ so you can also get your pamper on. Cucumber slices recommended.
If you’d like to get up close and personal, then pop along to the venue’s open day on the 6th October, from 11am-3pm, and check it out for yourself.
