A great big round of applause is in order for The Glynhill Hotel, which will be celebrating its 50th birthday on 9th April. And though the venue has, understandably, seen much change over its half-century in business, it still remains a family-owned enterprise at heart, committed to providing the very best customer service to its patrons.
“It’s a real milestone,” managing director Maroulla Nicholas said. “It’s hard to believe it’s 50 years since my father opened the hotel. Then, it had 22 bedrooms, a restaurant called The Ivy and a function suite; today we have 147 bedrooms, leisure facilities, a carvery, a 350-capacity function suite and a bistro. What’s more, we employ over 100 staff.
“We have had a lot of success over the decades, but that has been the result of blood, sweat and tears. My father was a great entrepreneur, and though he cannot be here in body to commemorate our birthday, I am sure he will be here in spirit.”
