Martina Liana’s swoon-worthy new collection lands

Details are Martine Harris’ passion. As head designer of Australian brand Martina Liana, part of the staggeringly successful Essense of Australia group, her workload is intense, but she takes the pressure in her stride. The result is intricately crafted gowns and separates that women worldwide are desperate to get their hands on.

“My newest collection features fashion-forward themes,” she explains. “The first is overskirts, which make a dramatic, photogenic statement. Another is what I call ‘floral explosion’. From lace to three-dimensional elements that create soft texture, the whimsy of a spring garden comes to life. And taking inspiration from the bevy of cold shoulders on the runways, we added a variety of playfully draped sleeves.”

The best part? You can mix and match her separates line to build your own bridal look. We’re eyeing up the line’s bewitching, tattoo-like illusion bodices (something Martine has really mastered during her time at the brand), along with the fresh, filmy lace trains and full, swish-proof skirts.

“Martina Liana’s dresses just have the wow factor,” praises Li Gorman at key stockist Pan Pan Bridal in Edinburgh. “The attention to detail is extraordinary, as are the flawless cuts, opulent trains and indulgent backs.

“This season, the shapes and accents remain true to her signature style – if you’ve found what works for you, why stray from the winning formula? I have seen a change in the designer, however. A couple of years ago, plainer dresses prevailed, but that’s made way for embellishment, complex motifs and delicate beadwork.

“With every year that passes, Martina Liana gets better and better.”
