Moodboard: watercolour florals

The painterly prettiness of watercolours make them an obvious, but not overdone, choice for wedding styling – especially when teamed with modern calligraphy (the font family for 2017). If the swirly script and sweet florals aren’t edgy enough for you, pair watercolour washes with more angular fonts for a contemporary take on the trend.

As a theme, it’s surprisingly easy to incorporate throughout your day. Cake designers can use food dye to create the arty effect across a towering bake or over iced biscuits, and even the most DIY-averse could probably whip some brushes out and have a crack at a ombré table plan.
