Dough Man’s Land

Dough Man’s Land was cooked up one night by two brothers from Glasgow looking for a way to combine their passions for people, the great outdoors and, crucially, food. “We make handmade, wood-fired pizza from our converted vintage horsebox,” explains Ryan, one half of the team behind the truck. “Our pizzas are made using only fresh, locally sourced ingredients with dough that is always handmade, never frozen. When it comes to toppings, the sky’s the limit; we can cater for any taste and dietary requirements.” The team can serve up to 200 people with prices starting from £8 per head.

Moskito Bites

You may not be able to fly your guests to sunny Spain, but you can certainly give them a taste of warmer climes with Moskito Bites. Using Scottish producers and suppliers to create authentic Spanish tapas, the team is flying the flag for both countries, and doing them proud – they were finalists in the 2018-19 Scottish Street Food Awards. It’s not hard to see why when they serve up all manner of treats, including crunchy chorizo rolls and delectable churros, perfect for your littlest guests (or adults) in need of a sweet fix. Gluten free, veggie and vegan options are available too. We think this rustic converted horsebox would look great for a barn wedding or parked next to your marquee, but with food this good, you’ll want them wherever your venue may be. Prices from £295.

The Crema Caravan

Food and romance: two things the French understand so well. If your reception needs a little je ne sais quoi, The Crema Caravan can help. Their converted vintage Renaults (what else?) have been travelling across Scotland serving delectable “burnt to order” crème brûlées since 2014 and owners Cal and Mel are dedicated to using only the best ingredients in a range of seductive flavours: think Madagascan vanilla, tonka bean, hazelnut praline and salted caramel. Oh là là!

While we’re loving the street-food revolution and all the dishes it’s brought to our shores, sometimes only the  Brit classics will do. The Bay on the Road is the mobile arm of Stonehaven’s award-winning The Bay Fish and Chips, offering a fantastic selection of fresh, sustainably sourced produce and can offer its full menu to guests at your reception. We can only imagine the look on their faces when this bad boy rolls up ahead of the evening buffet, after a few bevvies and a good boogie. Prices start from £9 per person.
