“We were after something a bit different when it came to our venue. We knew we didn’t want a traditional hotel wedding, so the first wedding planning decision we made was booking The Barn at Dalduff Farm for our ceremony and reception.

The barn really influenced the styling of our wedding. We had lots of signage and blackboards, and some amazing prop hire and floristry from Sparrow & Rose. The brains behind Sparrow & Rose, Lisa, even created our seating plan on a window pane.

Our biggest bargain was our transport. Iain and his best men arrived in his brother’s campervan – all it cost us was a couple of beers! My favourite wedding detail was our ‘pimp your prosecco’ bar.

I bought the first dress I tried on: a gorgeous Justin Alexander gown from Wedding Wise in Barrhead. My hair is short, so I had an amazing headpiece made by LHG Designs. It finished my look off perfectly.

Our friend Stephen played violin at our ceremony, and even played ‘Bittersweet Symphony’ by The Verve for me to walk down the aisle to. It was such a special moment.”

Top tip: “Book the big things ASAP. A lot of suppliers book up much further in advance than you’d think.”
