Northern star – Aberdeen venue plans expansion

Simpson’s Hotel, Bar and Restaurant

Simpson’s Hotel, Bar and Restaurant in Aberdeen’s west end is currently undergoing a major expansion and refurbishment and is set to re-launch on 1st December 2013 under the new guise of The Chester Hotel.

The hotel’s owners – Graham and Gillian Wood – are aiming to repeat the success of their other hotel: Edinburgh’s five-star The Chester Residence. “Whilst The Chester Hotel will be much larger, we’ve chosen a similar look and feel to Edinburgh’s The Chester Residence, combining contemporary luxury with comfort at the five-star end of the market. Aberdeen-based interior designer, Ambiance, has been appointed to style the guest rooms, whilst international design consultant Graven Images (whose previous projects have included Hotel Missoni in Edinburgh and Blythswood Square in Glasgow), is designing the public areas,” reveals Graham Wood. In addition to 22 luxury bedrooms (to compliment the existing 49), a fine dining restaurant and refurbished lounge bar, the hotel will have an exciting new function room that will cater for up to 160 guests. It’s set to be the chicest address for weddings in the Granite City.
