PHOTO ALBUM: Beautiful barns

Snaps from Scottish weddings captured in some of the country’s most amazing barns, stables and outbuildings

Barns, barns, barns. It seems like you can’t get enough of them (according to our web stats). Well, you ask, we listen! We’ve dredged our archives to find the best photography from real weddings taken at these massively popular venues.

Looking through them, it’s not hard to see the appeal. You’ll not find a better setting for festoon lighting, for example. An imposing ceiling height looks even more spectacular, and you’ll likely be allowed a lot more freedom with your styling than in a grand country home with delicate cornicing and listed status. One word of warning though, if you fancy yourself as a bit of a princess, these aren’t the venues for you. Nope, barns are for brides that want to breathe fresh country air, enjoy the rustic backdrop and won’t have a meltdown if their hem gets a speck of mud on it.
