Scottish bridal and occasionwear designer Joyce Young wows with new looks from made-to-measure range

If you’re a mother of the bride or groom looking for chic, timeless  wedding attire, chances are you’ve encountered Glasgow couturier Joyce Young Design Studios

The Glasgow-based atelier has a plethora of made-to-measure options for upcoming summer shindigs, all in a wide choice of colours. For something classic, the straight sheath dress (above right, £POA) is a winner: the cape can come off as the party amps up.

A more playful choice would be the lemon and lilac dress with beaded tulle bodice (above left, £POA). We can’t get enough of those pleats – they are one of the designer’s signatures.

If looking like the typical mother of the bride or groom isn’t your bag, choosing one of the hand-beaded tops and matching palazzo pants (below left, £POA) might just do the trick. By picking a two-piece, you’ll guarantee more wear out of your look for occasions to come.

We can’t get enough of the organza cape that is adding a little va-va voom to a demure sheath dress (above right, £POA) and would bet it’ll be hot property with mamas who want to turn heads in the most subtle of ways. Plus that square neckline is so in right now!

With more than 28 years of experience, it only takes an average of three fittings for Joyce Young Design Studio to create your desired look. Styles can be customised to suit your tastes or made exactly like the samples, and customers can try designs on in the north Glasgow showroom before ordering.

You can rest assured the attire will fit you like a glove: 20 measurements will be taken by the couturier so the mock up dress made of cotton toile is as accurate as can be. During the first fitting the mock dress is pinned to fit your body before the fabric is cut. There are two further stages before the team of five – including stylist, fitter, pattern cutter, cutter and machinist – produce a show-stopping frock.
