Multi-award winning Special Days Cakes started out in Uddingston over 20 years ago (although owner and cake designer extraordinaire Michael Burns has been making cakes a lot longer than that: he began as a 15-year-old apprentice at Tunnocks) and the business has grown continually since then, thanks to Michael’s reputation for beautiful wedding and celebration cakes, mouth-watering fillings, superb craftsmanship and first-class customer service. All cakes are baked at the company’s state-of-the-art bakery, while the new huge showroom, at 432 Old Edinburgh Road in Uddingston, is home to the UK’s largest display of wedding cakes, meaning there’s no end of inspiration for brides and grooms to-be in their quest for tiers of joy.

While this offer is only valid for new orders only and on cakes of three tiers and above, there is the option to reserve your date and choose your design at a later date (which is very handy if you’ve still to finalise your colour scheme or theme). The showroom is also hosting an open day on Sunday 2nd November, but normally open 9:30am to 4:45pm Monday to Saturday (late night Thursday til 8pm) if you can’t wait that long to taste some cake!
