Forget Love Island (OK, there’s fat chance of that, but hear us out), US reality series The Bachelorette is where it’s at, and this summer, the show’s stars graced the Highlands with their presence. The 15th season’s lucky bachelorette ‘Alabama’ Hannah Brown and her prospective suitors took to super luxe Inverness-shire venue Achnagairn Castle recently to film an episode of the programme on site.
“We were thrilled to participate in The Bachelorette,” enthuses owner Gillian Lacey-Solymar. “As an award-winning wedding venue, we are overjoyed to be able to show a large US audience the excitement of romance – Scottish style.
“There are many parallels between the programme and our luxury venue; The Bachelorette is unique and so are we, the programme understands glamour, and so do we. We’re proud to showcase Scotland to a global audience and know that Achnagairn will perfectly demonstrate its beauty and culture to viewers all over the world.”
Let’s hope Hannah got a chance between takes to enjoy the mind-blowing local cuisine at Table Manors, the estate’s dedicated restaurant (foraged berry desserts and edible flowers, anyone?), stroll around the idyllic estate and take a dip in the honeymoon suite’s relaxing whirlpool bath.
