Who says brides need to wear an ivory dress? This Edinburgh styled shoot begs to differ and we’re right there with it. Oversized sequins for the win!
“The idea behind this styled shoot was to illustrate that there really are no boundaries when it comes to weddings,” says photographer Steph Nicol of Olive Alexander Photography. “I wanted to show couples a modern, edgy take on what an Edinburgh elopement might look like.”
Steph drew inspiration from grungier, headline-making couples Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker and Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly. “I am also a big advocate for same-sex marriage, so wanted to highlight that side of my work as well.”
As well as photographing the cool looks, Steph styled them too! “The aesthetic has nods to famous brides gone by – think Kate Moss’s sequin sheath dress, Bianca Jagger’s hat, Amal Clooney’s trouser suit and the short, cute puff-sleeve worn by 60’s Hollywood icon Sharon Tate. We even featured a twist on Meghan Markle’s ‘Dress Two’ in the shape of the sleek YSL black halter.”
