Styled shoot: new Scottish suppliers showcase their work at Perthshire barn wedding venue Wed in a Shed

A team of wedding vendors, fresh to the Scottish scene, pitched up to ‘pop it like it’s hot’ in a fun styled photoshoot  in a barn centred round a fun popcorn bar and a pretty peach, pink and blue colour scheme

You know what it’s like: you wait ages for your pals to get get engaged and – boom! – they all happen at once (most likely your own included if you’re reading this).

With many couples in their 20s and 30s experiencing a concentrated burst of weddings over the course of a few years, it has become more and more important for them to offer their guests something ‘different’ from other nearly-weds in their friendship circles.

This thirst for newness has created a thriving community of talented fledgling suppliers across Scotland, all eager to work with one another. Case in point: this fun and cute styled photoshoot at new Perthshire barn venue, Wed in a Shed, that’s set on an Auchterarder farm.

“The majority of the team on this photoshoot are relatively new to the wedding industry, including the venue, florist Blooming Gallus Flowers, cake maker Angie’s Bakes, decor hire company Inspired Hire and me,” says Nicola Jeffrey, a Lanarkshire-based wedding photographer.

“We wanted to forge new relationships and work on a collaborative basis to showcase the best of the 150-capacity DIY venue and how versatile it can be. The aim was to create a rustic, natural and fun feel, with the couple just being themselves. A wedding can be, and should be, whatever you want,” she adds.

Some longer-established names joined the coterie of suppliers, including Andrew D. Scott Celebrant. “This man needs no introduction; he is an absolute ball of fun and energy,” laughs Nicola.

Delivino is a name many Perthshire foodies will be familar with (it has delicatessens and wine cafes in Crieff and Aucherarder), but it pitched up at the venue to show off its new venture on wheels, Delivino Wild Kitchen food truck.
