Take a look at Sassi Holford’s classy new 2020 collection

Thea gown by Sassi Holford
Thea, from £4,995 (without sleeves), Sassi Holford

When British treasure Sassi Holford drops her latest bridal collection, life is just that little bit sweeter. Get ready to lust after details you never even knew you needed, never mind wanted, like polo necks, split sleeves, puffed cuffs and smoky grey tulle. That’s the power of Sassi: there’s nothing she can’t convert us to.

“The new 2020 range is called Enamour,” she explains. “It’s an empowered look with a feminine edge and bold shapes in textured fabrics. The aesthetic is clean, rather than overworked.”

We’re hooked on Mila’s cheeky lace sleeves, below right, from £2,650 – such an unusual twist on a modest, streamlined gown – Alicia’s shimmering, rose gold floral print and full skirt, below left, from £5,495, and the criss-crossing, concertina-effect cuffs and waist of the ethereal Thea, from £4,995, above.

Does Sassi herself have a favourite gown? “I’d have to say Elizabeth [below, from £3,150], in beautiful silk mikado,” she says. “I love the modesty of the front, combined with the glamour of the back.”

If you fancy getting up close and personal with the dresses (and why on earth wouldn’t you?), good news: Sassi’s hitting the road. She’ll be visiting Glasgow’s Anne Priscilla Bridal on 28th September for the boutique’s designer day, so you can get her expert advice while you try on the exquisite gowns. If you miss out on that date, a month later you can also hit up Rachel Scott Couture for its Sassi designer day on 26th October for another chance to check out the range.
