Could one of these barns or stables on the east coast be the perfect wedding venue for your big day?
Prestonfield

At Prestonfield‘s opulent Georgian stables, the comprehensive packages include red velvet tablecloths and chair covers, high-quality glass and tableware, white linen, votive candles, dramatic lighting, pin-spots for the table settings and an in-house sound system.
Able to accommodate anything from 120 to 500 guests, couples should look no further than the drop-dead gorgeous hotel rooms for their honeymoon suite.
Kirknewton House Stables

If it’s rustic charm you’re after, the sweet stables at Kirknewton Estate might just fit the bill. Besides the stables, guests also have the option of using the stunning surrounding gardens, which include a perfectly manicured walled garden, perfect for the all-important photographs.
The stables can seat 150, or for large parties a marquee can be erected in the walled garden.
Windmill Barn
“The renovation of Windmill Barn, on the banks of the River Forth, has been a labour of love, but we are now delighted to be able to offer this unique venue for intimate weddings,” says owner Clare Chambers.
“The barn itself can seat 86 guests for a wedding breakfast or 120 guests in the evening. As well as providing wooden chairs, tables and benches, we also include heating, lighting (lots of fairylights!), a portable PA system and a vintage blackboard and barrels to set the scene.”
Wedderburn Castle & Barns
“Wedderburn offers a stunning combination of venues, from our castle – where couples may choose to hold their ceremony or drinks reception – to our character-filled barns,” says owner Cat Macdonald-Home.
“The Provender Barn can seat up to 150, while the adjacent Cart Shed has been designed to accommodate live bands, DJs and ceilidhs. The Cart Shed also has five glazed arches that open into the courtyard garden, which makes a lovely breakout area.”
Tullibole Castle
“The Carriage House at Tullibole Castle oozes character,” says Mel Jarron, marketing manager of the Kinross venue. “Whether it’s dressed for a rustic ceremony, dining or dancing, it always takes the breath away. To make your day extra special, we offer exclusive use of the castle and its magnificent grounds for the entire weekend. If your guest list is longer, there is always the option of putting up a tipi or marquee on the lawn.”
