Take flight with Apple Blossom Time

Overwhelmed by dress shopping? Sometimes, it’s better to see the gowns through someone else’s eyes. Armed with a Bengal eagle owl, Harris hawk and a pocket-sized African Pygmy hedgehog, photographer Jodie Mann took on the task of photographing some gorgeous Ian Stuart gowns from Perthshire boutique Apple Blossom Time accessorised with a flurry of feather-trimmed pieces from festival accessory specialist Tigerpunk. “My aim is to create images that go beyond realism and into the realm of something much more cinematic,” says Jodie of her work. “I explore Scotland’s rich history, myths and legends combined with her nature and landscape.”

Jodie teamed up with hair stylist Louise Quinn, makeup artist Sarah Baldwin and owner of Apple Blossom Time, Jolene Taylor, to produce the dreamy set of images at Knock Castle.

The shoot follows a fictional woman abandoned in her stately home who, Snow White-style, befriends some forest creatures (provided by Party Animals Perth). “As the story develops, we see Ian Stuart’s bridal gowns change from an organic, textured and ‘weathered’ appearance, to brighter, floral pieces,” says Jodie. “When she moves into the gardens, the gowns appear to blossom with her.”

Hang in there, you’ll find your fairytale.
