Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year is the world’s leading celebration of the art of food photography and two Scottish photographers triumphed in the ‘Wedding Food Photography’ category at the 2021 awards
A comical shot of a newlywed couple pulling faces as they attempt to cut a wedding cake aflame with cake fountains has won the Champagne Taittinger ‘Wedding Food Photographer’ category of Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year.
“Normally weddings run to plan, but it’s really fun to capture the moments where things go a little off script,” says John Armstrong-Millar, an Irish photographer who has lived near Bordeaux for over 15 years.
Highlands photographer Lynne Kennedy landed second place with ‘We Did It!’, a joyful image of a couple celebrating by popping champagne after eloping to the Isle of Skye in September 2020, while East Lothian photographer and stylist Amanda Farnese Heath (who works under the name Hare and Heath) was highly commended for her ‘Wild Wedding for Two’ image of a bride amid a lush leafy setting.
