After a two-year hiatus, The Scottish Wedding Show returns to the SEC in Glasgow this weekend (19th-20th February) and we’ve partnered with the country’s biggest wedding show on the programme for its exciting new stage, called ‘Let’s Talk Tying the Knot’…
The Scottish Wedding Show is shaping up to be truly unmissable. There’ll be over 200 exhibitors to help make your special day one to remember; a live band showcase to help practice your dance moves for ahead of your big day and the famous catwalk to see all the latest wedding fashions along. In short: it’s a one-stop-shop for all your wedding needs and a fab day out for the squad!
We are super-excited to announce a new feature stage that we’ve been collaborating with the show on. Called ‘Let’s Talk Tying the Knot’, it will host a series of drop-in talks and Q&As from Scotland’s leading wedding industry experts to help make planning your big day as easy as saying ‘I will’.
The Scottish Wedding Show team has even lined up a celebrity cameo! At 2.10pm each day, the stage will also host Married at First Sight’s Bob Voysey and Megan Wolfe in discussion with Matt Bendoris from the Scottish Sun.
Here’s the full schedule for both days, so you won’t miss a thing:-
11am Finding Your Wedding Dream Team
Award-winning wedding planner Susannah Dale of Revelry Events kicks things off with an overview of where to find suppliers; what questions should you be asking them and how to set a budget for your big day.
12:40pm Wedding Dress Shopping SOS
Tie the Knot Scotland’s editor Beth Forsyth chats to Joyce Young OBE, owner of Joyce Young Design Studios and Sharon McPherson, owner of Opus Couture and Opus Atelier, about what to expect on appointments when shopping for the dress of your dreams.
1:20pm Ceremonies 101
Celebrants from Fuze Ceremonies share insider tips to make sorting your wedding ceremony a pain-free process, bust some common ceremony myths and give an overview of the very important legal paperwork that must be completed.
2:10pm Married at First Sight’s Bob Voysey and Megan Wolfe
The couple featured in the last series of the hit E4 reality show and will be interviewed by Matt Bendoris from the Scottish Sun about love, life and what really goes on behind the cameras. There will also be a Q&A with the audience and fun-loving big Bob has even promised the crowd a song
2:50pm Figuring Out Your Wedding Style
If you have no clue how to start identifying the look of your wedding, fear not: we’ve got a panel of three experts on hand ready to cut through Pinterest overload and give you tips and the latest trends when it comes to wedding details and styling, featuring Lyndsay Mackenzie of wedding planner Clementine Weddings and Events; Danny Dobbie from venue stylist Vstate Events and Liggy Rennie, Liggy’s Cake Company.
3:50pm How to Stay Sane (and Not Fall Out) When Wedding Planning
Navigating the politics of wedding planning can be tricky. From allocating key roles to people on the big day to table planning; dealing with family dynamics to saying ‘no kids’ or ‘you’re not on the guest list’ – wedding planner Oskar Gilchrist-Grodnicki, aka The Wedding Guru, suggests how to plan on your own terms and have a day that’s all yours!
