For many photographers, gaining membership to the Master Photographers Association is the pinnacle of their career. For others who set their sights even higher, taking home one of the titles at the industry body’s annual awards is the holy grail. The MPA Scotland Awards took place at the Royal Dunkeld Hotel at the end of February and rewarded some of the country’s top snappers for a tireless year of shooting stunning wedding photography.
The accreditation isn’t granted solely on talent – photographers also need to adhere to strict professional standards – but to take home one of the trophies, it’s all about skill. Judges were looking for the very highest standard of photography in framing, composition, lighting, print quality and expression.
Here’s who was crowned the winners of the wedding categories:
Overall Wedding Photographer – John Parris, Parris Photography

Reportage Wedding – Scott Hogg, Scott Hogg Photography

Complete Wedding – Martin Weir, Weir Photography

Classic Wedding – Paul Walker, Paul Walker Images

Contemporary Wedding – Tom Gibson, Ayrshire Photographer
