Near Wick at the very tip of Scotland, Grade A-listed, exclusive-use castle Ackergill Tower is in a world all of its own – in the best possible way. Once you set foot on Ackergill soil, you won’t need to venture anywhere else. How so exactly? Well, for a start, the venue has a pub on site. Yes, you heard us right. A pub. The charming and cosy Smugglers Inn is open Fridays to Sundays, and there’s a fully stocked bar and lazy lunches by the log-burning stove waiting for you and your guests (good luck dragging them away in time for the ceremony).
Speaking of which, there are three separate wedding packages to choose from, starting with Lace, at £95pp, and leading up to Satin, priced at £125pp and, finally, Silk, which rings in at £145pp. If a three-course wedding banquet and deluxe room (or swish treehouse in the grounds) for the night of the wedding isn’t floating your boat, you can tailor a package to suit you, even if that includes a helicopter arrival (steady now).
Hen and stag dos are taken care of too. The venue can arrange a weekend of cocktail mixing, fine dining, afternoon teas and clay pigeon shooting, while you chill-out in the castle or self-catering cottages. What more could you possibly want?
