Congratulations to Pippa Middleton, who got engaged last weekend to her beau (and bro of MIC’s Spencer) James Matthews. After the ‘curves envied round the world’ in her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen bridesmaid dress at sister Kate’s wedding to Prince William, she’s set her bridal bar unspeakably high. We have a feeling she’ll rise to the challenge though, and so do nine bridal experts from Scotland’s boutiques. They’ve browsed their rails for the perfect dress for Pippa…

“We would love to see more of Pippa’s famous bottom, that’s why we’ve chosen Vicenta by Pronovias, styled with Stewart Parvin’s Mary jacket in Fonteyn lace. The dress is figure-hugging and has the added feature of a covered neckline and a fabulous detailed train – a must for a cathedral ceremony. The jacket can then be removed for the reception,” says Karen Kelly at Anne Priscilla Bridal.

“We think Pippa would look incredible in a style that accentuates her décolletage, so Claudia Cardinale by Eleganza Iconica would be our dream dress. It would nip her in at the waist and is made-to-measure for the perfect fit. The drama of the tulle train would create a statement walking down the aisle,” says Hannah Muckersie at Eleganza Sposa.

“This is one of our couture dresses, Camellia, which is figure-hugging satin sand-washed silk with a detachable soft silk organza train. I think this would show off the amazing curves that Pippa is famed for, while at the same time look elegant and demure with a touch of drama in the train,” says Joyce Young.
