If the weather stays as nice as it is just now, the capital’s inaugural Walking Wedding Fair is sure to be a massive success! Over 20 businesses in the Old Town are taking part in the unique event on 11th-12th June.

Showcasing everything from the ideal venue for a city centre wedding, and wedding attire, cakes and hats, visitors will have the chance to walk round the stores taking part, get some ideas and advice for their big day and enjoy some cake, fizz, and special offers. There will also be a competition to win a wedding hamper, with proceeds going to the Grassmarket Community Project.

Stores taking part include Walker Slater, Apex Grassmarket Hotel, Fabhatrix, Godiva BoutiqueMademoiselle Macaron, and In Vodka Veritas, and not forgetting I.J. Mellis Cheesemonger, who will be offering samples of its wedding cake alternative, made from yummy cheese!

Norrie Stewart, Greater Grassmarket Project manager, said: “Whether it’s expert advice you are looking for on vintage bridal gown by Rowan Joy at Godiva, tailor-made Harris suits at Walker Slater or bespoke hats at Fabhatrix – Greater Grassmarket has is all covered for this fantastic alternative Walking Wedding Fair, which is sure to be a huge success.”
