“We looked at 200 venues online and visited 14 in person. Most of the venues we loved were too far away but then we found Strathallan Castle! We got married at my church, Sacred Heart, during a Catholic Mass conducted by my family priest, Father Montesi.

My dress was the very first one I laid my eyes on at Glasgow boutique Reeta Fashions. I tried it on and couldn’t bear to take it off. I knew it was the one immediately. When it came to the bridesmaids, Ti Adoro Bridal really had the personal touch and was so helpful with advice.

I am very creative and love arty projects. I think I emptied out every art store in Glasgow. I collected jars all year then I got family and friends round to help decorate them. It was a nice way of including everyone in the planning, then to see those personal touches dotted everywhere on the day. My aunt shares my creative spirit and she made all of my table name signs and seat planners.

Our love of music was a massive influence in personalising our day, from the church to the nighttime do. Viper Swing played at our reception and dinner, before Seattle took over in the evening.

Our photographers, The Gibsons, were hands down incredible. They created a story of our day and truly captured who we are. I put a lot of time and effort into making and sourcing little touches, and I was worried they would be overlooked – but Chantal and Scott captured every single detail! We couldn’t have wished for two better people to be responsible for such an important aspect of our day.

I can honestly say I have never been happier than on my wedding day. My favourite memory was when Scott grabbed me and took me to sit outside. We sat together under the stars watching our family and friends dancing the night away.”

Top tip: “Take a step back. Grooms: steal your new Mrs every so often for 10 minutes alone to sit and watch the amazing event that you have both created. It slows your day down and helps you soak up the atmosphere.”
