Behind the scenes

Above right: Our photoshoot might be full of summery blooms, but we shot it in the depths of winter. Model Eilidh had to wrap up between shots!

The makeup
Makeup by Leigh Blaney was inspired by the beauty of nature while creating Eilidh’s makeup. “My aim was to create a natural, organic finish to fit in with the beautiful foliage,” explains Leigh. “I wanted to create an other-worldly, dreamy look with fresh, glowing skin and an effortless beauty for the spring season. My hero products for the glossy skin and glowing, sheer finish were Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter and Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation.”
The hair
Lyndsey Kerr at Love Hair Glasgow talked us through how she created Eilidh’s tousled trestles: “I used the Beauty Works x Molly Mae Waver. It’s a triple-barrel iron which adds soft mermaid-like waves to the hair. I added in one row of clip-in extensions to give some added volume and used Tigi Bed Head Dry Texture Spray to separate the waves, enhance texture and give the look natural, lightweight finish.”
The set design
The cold weather was no competition for Jono and his team at Weddings by Fantasy Greens while creating their stunning botanical backdrops for the shoot. Jono says: “We were trying to create summer blooms in the middle of winter, which is always a wonderful challenge. We used a mixture of real foliage with artificial flowers, which worked really well and created a mixture of tones and textures. We wanted the arch to have a strong structure to it, while still feeling wild and free.”
The photography
Laura A. Tiliman was our amazing photographer on the day of the shoot, and her soft photography style was perfect for showing off our gorge wedding dresses. Laura says: “I wanted the shots to look ethereal and romantic, so I kept the lighting diffused and simple, allowing the focus to be on the beautiful dresses and the impressive backdrops created for us. During the photoshoot, Eilidh was the perfect model for this vibe as her posing was effortless and elegant.”
