Go your separate way with Glitterati

When it comes to bridal shopping, who wants the beaten track? Not us, and certainly not Glitterati. The Glasgow boutique isn’t about to present you with rigid, ready-to-wear gowns and expect you to pick one and be done with it. Oh no. The approach is decidedly more individual than that, and we’re buzzing to see the store make way for more customisation possibilities and creative, made-to-measure pieces.

“We have a new collection of mix-and-match separates for brides and mothers of the bride,” explains Glitterati’s Bill Withers. “You can put together your own individual look and have it made especially for you.”

The bridal options are, of course, insanely pretty: make tracks to the boutique and play dress up with glitzy belts on ribbon sashes (‘to enhance a simple gown,’ Bill explains), crop tops with Art Deco beading (above right, £POA), full duchess satin skirts (above right, £POA), and Italian lace fishtail gowns (above left, £POA), which can be layered up with a satin overskirt for the ceremony. Lush.

If you can’t get enough of Glitterati (count us in that fan club), the store is also holding a sample sale, including bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses, as well as bridal gowns, on Sunday May 27th from 10am. “Appointments are every 45 minutes, so we recommend that you book early to reserve your space,” Bill says. “The dresses will be at a fraction of the original cost!”
