Its stores in Edinburgh and Dunfermline are welcoming in their winter wedding dress collections from the likes of Rosa Clara, Motee Maids, Aire Barcelona and Maggie Sottero
The love for phenomenally successful Spanish brand Rosa Clarà knows no bounds on the Scottish bridal scene, and Kudos Bridal Boutiques’ Edinburgh outpost is just one of many stores, lining up to sing its praises. They’re so keen, they’re even taking on a new line.
“We are so thrilled to reveal that we will be an official stockist of the Rosa Clarà Boheme collection this winter,” shares the boutique’s Louise Kelly. “We’re expecting new gowns to arrive in December and have had so many enquiries already! Our newest line will have beautiful lace sleeves, unusual back details and soft flowing skirts.”
How dreamy is Alejandra, above, with its gently puffed sleeves and delicate lace panel on the bodice? It’s made for floating about in the fields.
If you need a little something for the girls on the same level in terms of quality and style, Motee Maids (see Emma dress above) is Louise’s top pick.
“At Kudos, we’re in love with Motee’s new collection, featuring new sleeve options, which has just arrived,” she highlights. “This is something we feel has been missing from the bridesmaid market until recently and now we have a full range of gorgeous sleeved dresses to show our brides and their ‘maids. Fully beaded designs, soft fluttery cap sleeves and stunning ‘puff’ styles have been winning over clients already and we can’t wait to see even more of these stunning and unusual gowns on in our boutique!”
Over to Kudos’ sister store in Dunfermline, and it’s clear that the team has had a steep learning curve since the pandemic hit. “This year has been so strange – having to do all of our buying via video chat has been an experience!” laughs Megan Carberry. “It’s just making us even more excited to unpack our new arrivals, though, as that is really our first opportunity to see these gowns in person.”
What are they waiting for? Well, a whole fleet of fresh gowns by the sounds of it. “We’re on tenterhooks, standing by for gowns arriving from Essense of Australia, Maggie Sottero and Aire Barcelona. Our faves? The pretty, pearl-studded Rosette gown by Maggie Sottero, above, is absolutely exquisite, as is the Illart dress from Aire Barcelona, below, with its seductive plunging V-neck and back. We can head into 2021 with a bang,” Megan says.
There’s no chance of the next 12 months passing this boutique by without fanfare – they’re marking a very special birthday. “Next year is an exciting one for us as we celebrating 10 years of Kudos Dunfermline,” announces Megan. “We have lots of lovely things planned, but we’re kicking it all off with a Blue by Enzoani Trunk show on 30th January. We love trunk shows as they give our brides the opportunity to shop an entire collection in one place – ideal if you’ve had your eye on a style that you’ve been unable to track down!”
